Foster Barker Creative Song of the Day #2: Perhaps the best Pink Floyd song you’ve never heard. This oddly named, yet introspective tune comes from the under-appreciated and often overlooked 1972 “Obscured By Clouds” album (I’ve always loved unearthing deep tracks from classic rock icons.) This one is a true gem that ranks up with Pink Floyd’s best songs. Its laid-back feel make it a perfect song for an early morning drive, or after a long day’s work. If you want to dig even deeper, I’d suggest checking out the whole album. “Obscured” was a soundtrack to a lesser known film “La Vallee“, thus it was treated almost as a rehearsal to their next album, a slightly more familiar “Dark Side of the Moon”.
While Pink Floyd never performed “Wot’s…uh the Deal” live as a band, guitarist David Gilmour obviously appreciated the old tune enough to resurrect it for a handful of shows during his 2006 Tour. Enjoy!
